We can provide professional and courteous care and customize it according to your needs. We will have a registered nurse provide the initial assessment and coordinate care with your physician and other medical practitioners to ensure that quality care is delivered.
A New York State Licensed RN provides skilled nursing care, prescribed treatments, administers medications and other services in accordance with the plan of care and consistent with the medical regime for each particular client. Teaches and demonstrates in so far as possible, health care techniques or procedures to the client and the client’s family.
All of our Personal Care Aides are fingerprinted and cleared by the FBI. In addition, all workers are supervised by a Registered Nurse and participate in mandatory annual in-service hours, as required by the NYSDOH. Finally, all employees are covered under First-Care of New York Inc.'s comprehensive insurance policies (General Liability, Professional and Workers Comp)
- Services Included as directed by the plan of care and supervised by a Registered Nurse:
- Assist with care of the teeth and mouth.
- Assist with care of the hair including shampooing and shaving.
- Assist with ordinary care of the nails, including washing, drying, and filing with an emery board.
- Assist with bathing in bed, tub or shower.
- Assist with feeding.
- Assist with walking, use of walker, or wheelchair.
- Assist with dressing.
- Assist with transfers from bed to chair or commode and back.
- Prepare and serve meals according to instructions.
- Change bed linen.
- Dust, vacuum, and straighten the room that the patient uses.
- Wash dishes, scour kitchen and bathroom sink.
- Maintain general cleanliness of the patient environment.
- List needed supplies.
- Shop for patient in the absence of family members.
- Launders patient’s clothes and linens in the absence of family members.

Certified Home Health Aides
Services Include as directed by the plan of care and supervised by a registered Nurse:
- Assist with the care of the teeth and gums.
- Assist with the care of hair including shampooing and shaving.
- Assist with ordinary care of nails, such as washing, drying and filing with an emery board.
- Assist with bathing in the bed, tub or shower.
- Assist with feeding.
- Assist with toileting, use of commode, bedpan, urinal.
- Assist with dressing.
- Assist with walking, use of walker or wheelchair.
- Assist with transfers from bed to chair or commode and back.
- Prepares and serves meals according to instructions.
- Changes bed linens.
- Dusts, vacuums, and straightens the room the patient uses.
- Washes dishes, scours the kitchen and bathroom sinks.
- Maintains general cleanliness of the patient environment
- Lists needed supplies.
- Shops for the patient in the absence of the family.
- Launders the patient’s clothes and linens in the absence of the family.
Tasks allowable under special circumstances:
- Assisting with the administration of medicines.
- Measuring temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure.
- Testing urine for glucose, ketones, and bacteria.
- Collecting urine, stool and sputum specimens.
- Preparation of a complex, modified diet.
- Assisting with a prescribed exercise program.
- Assisting with prescribed medical equipment, supplies and devices.
- Assisting with special skin care, ostomy care and dressing changes.
(Any Age can qualify for Certified Home Health Aide services)

A Personal Care Aide or Home Health Aide who will provide around the clock care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, following an outlined plan of care. Services include all the responsibilities listed above for either the Personal Care Aide or the Home Heath Aide.
